CONNOR GODFREY

CONNOR KNIGHT DESIGN

For as long as I can remember, fashion and art was always something I was drawn to even as a young child. As far as interior design, it was something I had interest in because it was a generational hobby in my family but it wasn’t until I moved into my first apartment during college that my love for design really showed up. I realized that I had a residential blank canvas to change any way that I wanted.

After high school in a small town I moved to Portland, Oregon to attend the Art Institute where I received my BFA in Fashion Marketing. After graduation I worked as a freelance stylist until I landed a full time position on a production team as a photo sample coordinator for a large international clothing company.

As much as I loved wardrobe styling and working on a team, I always had the urge to be independent in some capacity. I wanted and needed to express myself creatively, in as many ways that I could.

I started painting more consistently, and eventually selling my art became a side gig. I started expressing my love for decorating and design and people began reaching out to me and hiring me for small projects in their homes. At this time I was still trying to balance my wardrobe styling job, my art business and the side interior jobs I was attracting. I decided in 202O that it was time to let go of my corporate job and launch my art and design business full time and concentrate my energy doing what I am passionate about.

My love for abstract art and fashion translates into my design aesthetic. My style is a merger of multi-layered meets simplicity. Using old and new to tell a story. Experimenting with bold shapes and pops of color, while creating balance with grounding neutrals.
